When I told my vet that my new puppy was eating poop, she gave me three packets of For-bid to use and highly recommended this product. I used it twice a day and the pup stopped eating her poop. However, she continued to eat our other dog’s poop. I give For-Bid to our other dog twice a day, but it hasn’t deterred the puppy at all. Clearly, it must react in each dog’s digestive tract differently. As others have said, the MSG in the product does tend to dehydrate the dogs, so you’ll notice they drink more (and for puppies working on house training, will need to go out twice as often)! To combat the issue, I’ve tried immediately picking up poop (she’s super quick though), tried sprinkling hot sauce on the poop to teach her to leave it, and spraying poop with Fooey (an ultra-bitter spray used to get dogs to leave things along). Surprisingly, she didn’t mind the Fooey at all, and would eat poop drenched in the stuff. The hot sauce seems to have worked the best.I am continuing to use this product until it’s all gone in hopes that it may suddenly kick in and “work” with the older dogs stool.
